Walk East for Discovery

When dashing about by car, bus or tube, it's easy to miss interesting landmarks and green spaces on the doorstep. On a Walk East programme, you slow down and take a closer look at what's around. It's a chance to rediscover the neighbourhood and its stories, as you explore the local street scenes, parks and waterways.

Walk East projects are designed to help your group:

  • Explore the local heritage – we'll spark your curiosity, share stories behind local landmarks and uncover hidden secrets.
  • Re-connect with nature – we'll make the most of the local parks, gardens, rivers, canals and docks, and encounter plants and wildlife along the way.
  • Record and share your discoveries – we can create route maps, photo-books, videos and treasure trails with you, to encourage others to explore the area.

Get in touch, if you'd like a creative, tailor-made walk programme to help your community group, school or work colleagues really discover the local area.

Walk East for Discovery"When we walk, we are aware of the details around us – birds, trees, the sky, shops and houses, other people. We make connections."
