Newspaper and magazine walks

Every month, Walk East director Graham Barker writes ‘Walk of the Month’ for East End Life. These self-guided walks are designed to encourage Tower Hamlets residents to explore the borough’s heritage, green spaces, landmarks and community venues, on foot. And with a circulation of over 90,000 copies, it represents a cost-effective way to promote walking to a large local audience.

Each of the 2-3 mile walking routes is illustrated with photographs taken en route (with special thanks to Mike Askew) and a map with numbered points of interest. And links are made with walking groups across Tower Hamlets.

Here’s a handful of our favourite walks:

A circular walk around Bow
Discover Matilda Gardens, Bow Quarter, Grove Hall Park and the Bromley-by-Bow Centre

A circular walk around Shoreditch
Explore Arnold Circus, Columbia Road, Brick Lane and Allen Gardens

A walk from Limehouse to Bromley-by-Bow
Stroll beside Limehouse Basin and Limehouse Cut to Three Mills

A circular walk around Bethnal Green
Visit Weavers Fields, Hackney City Farm, the Regents Canal and Victoria Park

From Whitechapel to Mile End
